Artist of the moment…..Ronald Brooks Kitaj

Ronald Brooks Kitaj was an America artist whose work was associated with the Pop Art Movement. Ronald Kitaj was born in Cleveland, Ohio in the year 1932. For his artistic education Kitaj attended many school including Cooper Union for Advancement of Advancements of Science and Art. He also attended the Academy of Fine Art located in Vienna, Austria. He also attended the Ruskin School of Drawing at the University of Oxford. Kitaj also attended the Royal College of Art in London, England.

To close with I wanted to take a look at a work that Ronald Brooks Kitaj painted named Self Portrait as a Mondrian. Mondrian refers to Piet Mondrian, the famous Dutch abstract painter. I enjoy when artists make reference to other artists that have inspired their own work.

Participated in the Venice Biennale winning the Golden Lion award.

Ronald Brooks Kitaj passed away in 2007.
