Happy Halloween! One of my favorite genre’s is the collector and their house as art. In this work I wanted to celebrate visual artists who created something associated with my FAVORITE holiday!
Each panel is 9 by 12 inches. Medium is paper collage.
This is a diptych, a two panel work. As a child I loved to watch the Addams Family so I thought what other art pieces might exist in the house besides the fish with the human leg sticking out.
All artists have been written about on my website!
Pumpkin- Japanese master Yayoi Kusama.
Frakenstein- Vik Muniz, Frankenstein, caviar monster series. The artist recreated monsters using beluga caviar.
Vampire Mouth- Ruby Sterling
Pumpkin Head Man- Jamie Wyeth
Platinum skull- Damien Hirst
Witches Hat- Robert Therrien
Happy Halloween everyone and try to make some artwork to celebrate the holiday!
A big shout out to Roy Villafane and his online tutorials for helping to get the carving right. Pumpkin was very soft in some parts so I decided to paint it!
Mine is on the left and a pumpkin by my dad on the left!

Edward Burtynsky was born in Saint Catherines, Ontario, Canada in the year 1955. For his collegiate studies Burtynsky attended Niagara College located in Welland, Ontario. The artist graduated with a degree in photographic arts from Ryerson College located in Toronto, Ontario. Burtynsky enjoys shooting landscapes that have been altered and/or transformed my humans over time. This could be a mine that is no longer operational, an oil spill, or even the abstract patterns made on irrigated land when shot from overhead looking down. These works are similar to crop circles and very intriguing for their basic geometric shapes.
As a youngster Burtynsky lived near a General Motors plant that he enjoyed shooting. As a result the artist enjoys taking shots of how industry has changed the landscape. In this clip we check out a series dealing with oil:
A great documentary featuring works from Burtynsky:
The artist can concentrate on modern activities such as an oil spill, shooting the famous spill that took place in off the Gulf of Mexico in 2010.
The artist works with a large format camera and tries to shoot from platforms or something that will elevate him high above his subject matter.
The artist is based out of Toronto, Ontario.
This clip shows the artist working in China using a radio controlled helicopter that has the artist’s camera attached to it. Very interesting!

Here we look at a great documentary that uses many images by Burtynsky that has to do with water. How we use it and how every is affected by it. It comes out October 11, 2013:
What a great photographer who is using his medium to bring awareness to how we as humans alter so many things.

Another reason work by Ohno Bakufu is hard to define is that the artist did not employ text at all in his work. Many woodcut artists use text in their work, Bakufu avoided this process.
