Danby was a very skilled painter. My favorite works of his are the horses in water. His figure watercolor paintings of the figures recall another artist who recently passed away this year, Steve Hanks.

I saw the work of this artist at the Dana Gallery’s show “Icons of the West” in Missoula, Montana. The reflected light quality of this work made it my favorite in the exhibition. It was a great show featuring such nationally renown artists as Lorrie Beck (equine drawings) and Tom Gilleon(paintings of teepees.)

In this clip a great selection of animals and insects painted by Dzia:
The artist is very creative and says his work is spontaneous. The end result might be something John Singer Sargent would have produced if he were a street artsist. I say this because Dzia’s works looks very loose and lively, but a tremendous amount of work and thought went into it.
What a fantastic draftsman!
If you enjoy street art dealing with animals and other creatures, be sure and check out the work of another Belgian street artist named ROA, already profiled here.

The artist has a sense of design that reminds me of the great Japanese woodblock artists. In many works the artist uses only two colors in his works. This makes the viewer grow more emotionally attached to his landscapes.
Jeremy Browne is a wonderful painter of barns and the landscape. Browne was born in Brampton, Ontario and spent much of his childhood exploring the outdoors.
The artist’s family would often travel to the national parks to enjoy the weekend and whilst going there the drive was plain and barren with sometimes only one house might be all you see for miles. This gave the artist some ideas for composing his cozy farm scenes.
Browne works mainly in acrylics.
For seasonality the artist prefers to paint the fall and winter seasons. He finds it easier to convey mood and concentrate on the flow of light during the desolate times.
Dustin Yellin is a fantastic artist who makes 3 dimensional paintings in glass using acrylic paint. Dustin Yellin was born in Los Angeles, California in the year 1975. Yellin is a painter, collage artist, and draftsman who uses combines all of these skills when making one of his 3 dimensional works.
The artist moved to New York in 1995. He supported himself by performing street art.
Yellin uses a lot of glass in each work, even the smaller ones. In his studio we visit with James Kalm the artist tells us he had 15 tons of glass in his studio at the time of Kalm’s visit. Each layer is made individually and then layered upon each other to give the work tremendous depth.
The depth is best scene in his works with trees and forests. Many of these works are made just with one color of paint.
In this clip we visit the studio of Dustin Yellin with our art amigo James Kalm (from 2011) This clip is awesome because Mr. Kalm shoots images from the side and in front of the works so the realism and abstraction of each work is seen. :
