Artist of the moment……Mehdi Ghadyanloo

 

 

 

Mehdi Ghadyanloo is an contemporary Iranian street artist renown his Op Art style. Mehdi Ghadyanloo was born in Karaj, Iran in the year 1981.

Ghadyanloo worked as a farmer before attending college at the University of Tehran where he studied painting. The artist went on to earn a masters degree in animation from Tarbiat Modares University.

Over his career Ghadyanloo has painted more than 100 murals around Tehran. The artist uses street art to make his city beautiful. He adds color to the grays of everyday life. In this clip we view many of the artist’s mural works:

The artist had his first solo exhibition in London, England in 2015.

Ghadyanloo has a wonderful sense of design. The artist uses a great mix of organic and geometric shapes that really make his work grab the viewer’s eye.

Artist of the moment……..Lady Aiko

 

 

Lady Aiko is an internationally renown street artist from Japan. Lady Aiko was born in Tokyo, Japan. The artist attended college at Tokyo Zokei University where she studied filmmaking and graphics design. Lady Aiko went on to earn an M.F.A. from the New School located in New York City.

After college the artist worked with Japan’s version of Andy Warhol, Takashi Murikami.

The artist has also worked with the street legend Banksy, taking pictures of the artist whilst Banksy made unauthorized installations at the Museum of Modern Art located in New York City. She has also worked with the group F.A.I.LE.

Although the artist Banksy calls street art a movement featuring few females some other great female street artists include Faith 47, Swoon, Maya Hayuk, and Miss Van.

Artist of the moment……Christina Angelina

 

 

Christina Angelina is an internationally renown American street artist. Angelina often works with the female face and figure. She reminds me of artist Swoon, both use female forms and often create wheat paste ups.

Angelina attended New York University. She went on to earn an B.F.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Angelina has completed several commissions for companies including Neiman Marcus. She also was hired to paint live whilst the musician Kaskade was painting on stage.

The artist often works with street artist Fin Dac to create incredible street art murals. Below we view a collaboration between the two artists:

Artist of the moment………Jaybo Monk

 

 

Jaybo Monk is a French painter, street artist, and entrepreneur. Jaybo Monk was born in France in the year 1963. Monk grew up in France before relocating to Germany.

Monk is the founder of a fashion company called Irie Daily and also started a magazine.

Artist of the moment……..Street artist and illustrator Paige Smith

 

 

Paige Smith is an American graphic designer and street artist. Her street art installations are sculptures made of resin and paper. Her first big project was to install these pieces all over the city of Los Angeles, California.

As a graphic designer the artist has been very successful working with international brands including PayPal, MTV, and Cisco.

With the help of a partner Smith recently launched a fashion line. The duo produce leather handbags that can switch from a backpack to a handbag.

Paige Smith is a diversified artist and designer. Her small sculptures are wonderful as they remind me of being a child and being exposed to the wonderful shapes and colors found when you sliced open a rock such as quartz.

Artist of the moment………Street Artist CBLOXX

 

 

CBLOXX is a British female street artist working in a Surrealist style, often with the face and figure. The government name of Cbloxx is Joy Gilleard.

Artist of the moment………..Luis Seven Martin

 

Luis Seven Martins is a Brazilian street artist renown for his spectacular images of birds.  The artist also goes by the name of LM7.

LM7 was born in São Paulo, Brazil in the year 1988.The artist has been working with street art and graffiti since he was thirteen years of age.

Most works are a mix of spray paint and acrylics.

LM7’s style can be described as John James Audubon with a modernist touch. LM7’s art is a wonderful blend of abstraction and color that show birds in constant motion. Another artist working with the same subject matter in a similar style is the painter Frank Gonzales.

The artist is based out of Madrid, Spain.

I enjoy the feeling of life brought to the work of this artist. He is an excellent draftsman and this helps to give his faces and wonderful sense of life. Suso33 reminds me of the artist Richard Hambleton. Both artists created wonderful figures with unique line work.

Artist of the moment…….Street Artist and Illustrator Belin

 

 

Belin is an amazing Spanish street artist renown for his unique style of work with the face and figure. Belin was born in a city located in the south of Spain called Linares. Belin’s work is a blend of surrealism, realism, and caricature.

Belin is short for the artist’s last name, Belinchon.

The artist often works on murals with other well known street artists including Otes.

When the weather isn’t cooperating with making graffiti, the artist turns to the art of sculpture.

Belin shows remarkable innovation in his work. Often times he uses photographs for resources, but with his style of exaggeration one might think the artist just created a masterpiece from life!

Artist of the moment………Never2501

 

 

 

 

 

 

Never2501 is an Italian street artist renown for his unique style of murals that emphasize white and dark lines that are wavy and curvy. His works cross the boundaries of several art movements including Op Art, abstract art, and figurative art.

His work is similar to a pattern you might find on a zebra.

The artist was influenced by what he saw in his native country of Italy. When he was a young teen his family moved to Brazil. This move also had a profound impact on the artist.

Never2501 is based out of Milan, Italy.

From a design standpoint you really can’t do much better than this artist’s designs. His lines have wonderful variances between thick and think weighted lines. These works remind me of British Op Art master Bridget Riley.
