From a design standpoint you really can’t do much better than this artist’s designs. His lines have wonderful variances between thick and think weighted lines. These works remind me of British Op Art master Bridget Riley.
108 is an Italian street artist famous for his black and gloomy paintings of organic shapes. 108 was born in Alessandria, Piedmont, Italy in the year 1978.
The artist began as a graffiti writer.

Mino Argento is an Italian painter and collage artist renown for his Abstract style. Mino Argento was born in Rome, Italy in the year 1927.
Argento had a background as an architect before becoming an artist. He left Italy in order to further his art career. At that time in Italy figurative art was the preferred style of painting. The artist relocated to New York City.
Argento uses basic geometric shapes to form new dimensions on the canvas. He paints using mixed mediums on most surfaces including oils and acrylics.
Argento’s art reminds me of the kinetic and Op Artist from Venezuela, Carlos Cruz Diez. Both use simple shapes to create amazing layers of depth and light.

Piero Sadun was an Italian artist renown for his abstract painting. Piero Sadun was born in Siena, Italy in the year 1919.
Sadun served as an apprentice in the Primo Conti studio located in Florence, Italy.
For a period of time he experimented with realism and enjoyed painted scenes of the circus and also cats.
The artist was the lead professor at the L’Aquila Fine Arts Academy.
Piero Sadun passed away in 1974 at the age of 55 years of age.

Franco Fontana is a modern Italian photographer renown for his works that consist of basic geometric shapes. Franco Fontana was born in Modena, Italy in the year 1933. The artist also creates paintings from time to time.
The artist has seen his work used in the music industry for album covers.

Carlo Carrà was an Italian painter associated with the Futurist movement. Carlo Carrà was born in Quargnento, Italy in the year 1881. In addition to Futurist work, the artist was an accomplished realist painter.
The artist worked in a Futurist manner until the outbreak of World War One.

Lino Tagliapietra is an Italian master glass artist. Lino Tagliapietra was born in Murano, Italy in the year 1934. This area of the country is famous for producing glass since the year 1300.
When the artist was twelve years old he became an apprentice to another master glass artist named Archimede Seguso. Tagliapietra was allowed to work with glass himself at the age of fourteen.
This is my favorite clip of the day! We see the two most famous glass artists in the world, Dale Chihuly and Lino Tagliapietra. The two came together to share the knowledge of their favorite medium:
After many years of the learning the craft through his master and also by visiting the Venice Biennials and the Murano Museum of Glass, the Tagliapietra was given the title of glass master when he was 25 years old.

Umberto Boccioni was an Italian artist associated with the Futurist movement. Umberto Boccioni was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy in the year 1882.
His father was a low level government official.
The artist attended the Academy of Fine Arts located in Rome. Giocoma Balla was a major influence.
Boccioni was a painter and sculptor who was very prolific in his output.

In the year 1916 he was drafted to fight in World War One. During a training exercise he was thrown from his horse and trampled. He died the next day from the injuries he sustained. Umberto Boccioni passed away in 1916 when he was only 33 years of age.

The artist was truly a young master and its too bad he passed away at such a young age. Though he had a short career, he was an outstanding painter in a representational style, as well as his chosen style of Futurism.

Argentini reminds me of photographer Ruth Bernhard. Both artist’s produce very interesting images concentrating not on face and color of the female form, but rather the curves of the figure and sometimes even the more interesting cast shadows of the female form. Argentini has brought new life to the classic ideas of how to shoot the female form.
Moneyless is an Italian born street artist renown for his three dimensional installation works and paintings of basic geometric shapes. Moneyless also goes by the name of Teo Pirisi. The artist has used his background as a street artist and his studies of industrial architecture and design to develop his own unique language of expression and art.
Teo Pirisi was born in the year 1980.
