Artist of moment…….Susan Rothenberg

Susan Rothenberg is the wife of artist Bruce Nauman, the previous post. Susan Rothenberg was born in Buffalo, New York in the year 1945. For her collegiate education the artist attended Cornell University which is located in Ithaca, New York. She also studied for a short time at the Corcoran School of Art located in Washington D.C. Rothenberg uses wonderful gestures in her drawings and paintings and her favorite subject matter is the horse. She is both a painter and printmaker. Rothenberg has been classified as a minimalist.

She and her husband Bruce Nauman spend much of their time on a ranch in Sante Fe, New Mexico. Here we visit their studio and ranch, from the PBS series ART 21:

Price range information:  For prints works can start around $10,000 up to original woks have sold for $1.5 million dollars at auction.

Susan Rothenberg has been the winner of grants from the National Endowment of the Arts.
