Artist of the moment….Greg Bogin

Greg Bogin is an American artist renown for his simple abstract geometric paintings. His work reminds of painter Ellsworth Kelly. Very simple lines and shapes painted with acrylics , lacquer, and automotive enamel paint. Greg Bogin was born in New York City in the year 1965.

For his collegiate education Bogin attended the Cooper Union School of Art located in New York City.

He draws inspiration from mass consumer advertising campaigns and marketing.

Artist of the moment…….Angelo Filomeno

Angelo Filomeno is an Italian artist born in Ostuni, Italy in the year 1963. Filomeno is renowned for his wonderful art that mixes great drawing skills with embroidery. His favorite subject matter is human skulls that he uses to express sentiments of death and isolation.  For his artistic education the artist attended the Academy of Fine Arts located in Lecche, Italy. In addition to his silk paintings Filomeno also works with blown glass.

Price range information: Smaller cast acrylics start around $5,000 to $50,000.

Angelo Filomeno is now based out of New York City.

I really enjoy his sense of design. Most artist’s I have seen that use embroidery don’t have nearly the draughtmanship skills of Angelo Filomeno!
