Artist of the moment……….Ryan Sullivan


Ryan Sullivan is an American painter renown for his abstract paintings which are similar in style to satellite images of the earth. Ryan Sullivan was born in the year 1983. Sullivan’s process of creating involves lying his surface flat on the ground and pouring paint and other mediums on top of the surface. In addition he then tilts the canvas in various directions.

Sullivan attended the Rhode Island School of Design located in Providence, Rhode Island.

The artist uses the dates he creates his art as the titled of his works.

The artist has had exhibitions in Europe and the United States.

Sullivan uses many mediums in his work including oils, acrylics, enamels, wax, and latex.

Price range information: $80,000 to $200,000.

Other artist whose creative process include pouring paint include Damien Hirst and Ian Davenport.

Sullivan’s work reminds me of a Google maps image that is brought to life! What a wonderful example of modernist art. Modern themes in his work include the medium of latex and the pouring of paint.


Artist of the moment…..Domenico Bianchi

Domenico Bianchi is a mixed media artist born in Rome, Italy in the year 1955. For his artistic education Bianchi attended the Academy of Fine Arts located in Rome, Italy. He is renown for his work using unusual painting materials such as wax painted on wood.

First solo show was in 1977 in New York City. Many different medium works were shown including works using cardboard, wax, and candles. Even small works include many layers of transparent wax.

Part of a newer generation of artists that enjoyed studying light and space.

Bianchi lives and works out of Rome.

The artist has been part of the Venice Biennale on three occasions.
