Artist of the moment…..Michelle Grabner

 

 

Michelle Grabner is an American painter and print maker renown for her abstract style based on basic geometric shapes. Michelle Grabner was born in the year 1962.

Grabner received an excellent collegiate education earning M.A. and a B.F.A. from the University of Wisconsin located at Milwaukee. Grabner also earned a M.F.A. from Northwestern University.

Grabner has held solo exhibitions of her work in the United States and Europe.

Grabner has also taught at the collegiate level serving as chair of the painting and drawing department at the Art Institute of the School of Chicago.

Artist of the moment……..Furniture Designer Richard Judd

 

Richard Judd is a modern fAmerican furniture designer. Richard Judd was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin in the year 1953.

Judd attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison for two years before finishing up and earning a degree from University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee in architecture.

Judd is based out of Wisconsin. He opened a retail establishment called the Zazen Gallery that covers many aspects of home interior design.

Of the many furniture designers covered here I find him similar to Ron Arad. In addition to the their wonderful chairs, both artists use line in curvy rather that straight lines to make some very artsy and elegant bookshelves.
