Artist of the moment…..Gaetano Pesce

Gaettano Pesce is a world renown artist perhaps known more for his furniture, but the artist has done a fair amount of work that was to be hung on a wall. Pesce was born in La Spieza, a region in the northern part of Italy, in the year 1939. He is now based out of New York.

For his collegiate studies Pesce studied architecture at the University of Venice.

World renown for art and architecture his most famous building is the “Organic Building” in Osaka, Japan. The building looks far different than most of its contemporary buildings for one striking characteristic, its covered with flower pots!

Pesce came to the United States in 1980. He has been a guest speaker at Cooper Union college in New York and other colleges around the world.

The artist has a reputation for using resin in his newer works.

Included in the Museum of Modern Art.

In this very recent clip a show given for the artist.

Price range information:  Pesce has most artistic works available between $1,000 and $10,000.

Not much more information on the artist. I really love his chairs, especially the ones with two figures kissing. Very unique! I always enjoying seeing those artists who in this case start as with an architecture background.
