Youngerman has won a Guggenheim Fellowship and also awards from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Price range information: Works range from $10,000 to $60,000. The artist worked in oils, gouache, prints, and bronzes.

What I enjoy most about Youngerman’s style is his sense of graphic design. Many pieces seem to be very similar to First Nations art, especially those works featuring black, red, and white. His style is very similar to the First Nations style of art work, but with more modern line work.

Artist of the moment………Robert Abbett

Robert Abbett is an American painter born in Hammond, Indiana in the year 1926. Abbett ranks on par with other animal artists like the legendary Bob Kuhn for his portrayals of wildlife. His favorite scenes were hunting dogs or fisherman.

Abbett has  a wonderful application of paint varying his textures and making wonderful abstract designs using the branches of the fallen trees, or standing ones. Abbett has a great sense of color and uses the fall foliage colors of  yellows and oranges to his advantage in his hunting scenes.

For his collegiate education Abbett attended Purdue University and the University of Missouri.

Abbett was also an illustrator and among his works was the series Tarzan.

The artist has been based out of Connecticut since the early 1950s.

Abbett is a well established printmaker renowned for his sporting works. He is a big hit in hunting and fishing galleries.

Abbett works in oils, acrylics, watercolor, and gouache.
