Artist of the moment……Louay Kayyali

Louay Kayyali was a fantastic painter in a modernist style. Louay Kayyali was born in Aleppo, Syria. He enjoyed working with the figure and had a wonderful sense of color and design.

Louay Kayyali studied art abroad attending the Academy of Art located in Florence, Italy and also the Academy of Art located in Rome, Italy.

Price range information: The artist worked mainly in oils and works range from $25,000 to $200,000.

Like the previous entry, Louay Kayyali took part in the famed Venice Biennial.

In this clip we view a great selection of works by Louay Kayyali:

Louay Kayyali passed away in 1978. He was smoking a cigarette in bed which caught fire and burned him badly and ended up killing him.

His figures are very moody, this is achieved by his great use of color. My favorite works by the artist are his paintings of cities and landscapes. Kayyali had a wonderful sense of design and made fun shapes out of shapes that can be quite boring, the windows and doorways.
