Sybil Andrews was a British artist renown for her printmaking in a Modernist style. Sybil Andrews was born in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England in the year 1898.

Andrews worked as a welder in World War 1. Andrews went on to study at the Heatherly School of Fine Art located in London, England
The artist often worked with watercolors and occasionally with oils. She was a prolific printmaker.
In 1947 Andrews relocated to British Columbia, Canada where she would spend the remainder of her life.
Price range information: The artist works in oils and watercolors but not enough works have been sold to produce a schedule. Prints range from $10,000 to $140,000.
Sybil Andrews passed away in 1992 at the age of 94 years of age.

Andrews was a wonderful modernist often over looked by the art world. Her figures have a wonderful sense of motion and design. Many times the figures create a pattern themselves featuring shapes of the figure that are very similar but not exact copies of each other. I also enjoy her bird’s eye views of subjects including rowing.
