Artist of the moment……….Carlos Raquel Rivera

Carlos Raquel Rivera was a fantastic poster artist and printmaker. ¬†Carlos Raquel Rivera was born in Yauco, Puerto Rico in the year 1923. Rivera attended the Art Student’s League of New York City.

The artist flourished in the 1950s and 1960s as his work was heavily sought after for posters and commercial art.

His works were also used to push political ideas and agendas.

Carlos Rivera passed away in 1999.

Carlos Raquel Rivera, like most poser artist, had a wonderful sense of design and use of color. The poster artist are among my favorite because they have mastered not only visual art, but most were excellent at designing and working with various letter forms.
