Miss.Tic is a wonderful French street artist who was among the pioneers of street art. Miss.Tic was born in Paris, France in the year 1956. The artist is renown for her images of stenciled dark haired women often paired with clever text.
The artist overcame tremendous difficulties in her life. As a ten year old child her grandmother, mother, and brother were killed in a car accident. Her father died ten years later. She would relocated to California.

Theo Van Doesburg was born in Utrecht, the Netherlands in the year 1883. His father was a photographer He was a founder of the De Stijl movement. Another noted leader of this movement was Piet Mondrian.
The artist began as a realist painter. He produced quite a large body of realistic paintings. Many examples of these types of works are in the clip.
The artist was born Christian Emil Marie Kupper. He was proud of his stepfather and so he began to use his name and even signed his paintings with his father’s name, Theo Doesburg. He would later add “van” to the signing of his works.
With Piet Mondiran and artists founded the De Stijl magazine in the year 1917. Van Doesburg was a published author and critic.
Van Doesburg was different than Mondrian in that Van Doesburg emplyed diagonal lines.
His first exhibition was in 1908.

Kotaro Takamura was the son of Koun Takamura, the last entry and a sculptor who worked with wood and bronze. Kotaro Takamura was born in 1902 in Tokyo, Japan. Kotaro Takamura was like his father a great sculptor. Kotaro also was a poet and enjoyed writing.
A big influence on Kotaro Takamura was Auguste Rodin.
For his artistic education Kotaro Takamura attended the Tokyo School of Fine Arts where he studied sculpture. The artist also studied abroad in New York City, London, and Paris.
Kotaro Takamura passed away in 1956 at the age of 73 years old.

What a great father and son combination of artists!
Vito Acconci is an American artist born in Bronx, New York in the year 1940. Acconci is a very versatile artist working in many mediums including sculpture, painting, and performance art. For his collegiate education Acconci attended the College of the Holy Cross located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Acconci went on to do his postgraduate studies at the University of Iowa. The artist has completed many public sized commissioned works.
The artist studied writing and poetry for his master’s degree. Acconci didn’t began to produce visual art until the very late 1960s.
For much of his work the artist uses his own body.
Price range information: Non public sized smaller works and prints range from $3,000 to $50,000.
Acconci also has become renown for some performance art work. One such work titled Seedbed involved the artist arousing himself sexually and talking to himself whilst loudspeakers echoed his words and the viewer walked above the artist.
Acconci was one of the first artist to work with recycled and found materials. The artist has built a reputation for designing fine furniture from these materials.

Acconci has also been part of many great teaching institutions including Pratt and the Art Institute of Chicago.
