Artist of the moment….Robert Kelly


Robert  Kelly is wonderful painter of abstract art and works dealing with basic geometric shapes. Robert James Kelly was born in 1956 in Sante Fe, New Mexico. For his collegiate studies the artist attended Harvard University.

Worked for Polaroid as a commercial photographer.

Price range information: Photographs and paintings range from $1,000 to $10,000.

Robert Kelly is based out of New York city.

Included in many prominent museum collections including the Whitney Museum of Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, and Fogg Art Museum.

He was mostly influenced by the De Stijl movement that started in Holland with artists like Piet Mondrian. Another influence was Kasmir Malevich, another artist I have covered here.  Other artists working in a similar manner would be Karl Benjamin and Ellsworth Kelly.

He attacks his work with the enthusiasm of completing a puzzle.
