Artist of the moment……Scott Campbell


Scott Campbell is an artist working in many mediums the two foremost being tattoo art and sculpture. His sculpture work is unique in that he uses uncut and cut sheets of uncirculated currency. The sheets are cut by laser, giving them an outline and slightly burnt appearance.

Scott Campbell was born in the year 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The artist originally signed up for college at the University of Texas to be a medical illustrator but dropped out.

After relocating to San Francisco the artist found a full time job and began to tattoo as a way to earn extra cash. Campbell moved his tattoo operations to Williamsburg in Brookly, New York and has had many celebrity clients the first being Heath Ledger. Other clients include Robert Downey Junior and Sting.

Campbell began showing his works featuring currency in 2009. These works were an immediate success.

The artist is based out of New York City.

Price range information: For larger works prices range between $20,000 an $30,000. The artist works in small editions of three for most works.

Campbell was married in 2013 to the actress Luke Bell.

What a talented artist. This artist also gets an A+ for his business savvy and expertise. His work with laser cut currency and text reminds of famed American artist Ed Ruscha.
