Artist of the moment…..Itee Pootoogook

Itee Pootoogook is a fantastic printmaker from the Cape Dorset, Nunavut Territory, Canada region born in the year 1951.

His father was one of the most famous Inuit artists who was a master printer and sculptor named Paulassie Pootoogook.

Itee Pootoogook is renowned for his landscapes of the arctic region. Pootoogook has a great sense of color.

The artist first work to appear as part of print collection was in 2008.

And we have a our first arctic colorist. Due to his use of color the artist’s work has a very modern feel to it.

Itee Pootoogook works for the most part with coloured pencil on paper.
