Artist of the moment……Perle Fine


Perle Fine was born in Boston, Massachusetts in the year 1905. For her artistic education Fine attended the Art Student’s League of New York City. She also studied with famed Abstract painter Hans Hofmann.

For much of career Fine was based out of East Hampton, New York.

price range information: Works range from $6,000 to $25,000. Fine worked as a printmaker and worked in watercolor and oils.

Perle Fine passed away in 1988 at the age of 83 years old.

I enjoy the sense of design used by the artist. Her style is abstract, but very organized and some works have a wonderful Op Art feel to them.




Artist of the moment…….Louise K. Stone

Louise K. Stone was born in Findlay, Ohio in the year 1902. Stone was an abstract painter who worked with basic geometric shapes and great color.

For his artistic education Louise Stone attended the Cincinnati Academy of Art and the Pennsylvania Academy of Art. Stone also took classes at the Art Student’s League of New York City.

The artist also studied in Germany with Hans Hoffman.

Louise K. Stone passed away in 1984.

Artist of the moment…….John Grillo

John Grillo is an American artist born in 1917 renowned for his abstract style of painting. In addition to painting Grillo sculpts and produces prints.

For his collegiate education Grillo attended the Hartford School of Fine Arts in Hartford, Connecticut. Grillo then moved to the West coast and attended the California School of Fine Arts. In addition he was able to study directly under painter Hans Hoffman.

Grillo has been part of exhibits at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum of Art both located in New York City.

Price range information: Works range from $5,000 to $60,000.

The artist is based out of Provincetown, Massachusetts.
