Artist of the moment…….Leo Sewell

 

 

Leo Sewell is an American artist renown or his sculpture work out of found objects and rubbish. Leo Sewell was born in Annapolis, Maryland  in the year 1945.

For his medium of junk and found objects the artist uses plastic, metal, and wood objects. He finds these items at yard sales and flea markets and as you guessed it, the TRASH!

Sewell attended the Univeristy of Delaware. The artist studied business and art history.

Talk about a large body of work, over his lengthy career Sewell has completed more than 4,000 sculptures! His work can be found in private collections of the Nike companies and also in museums.

In one episode the television children show personality Mister Roger’s pays a visit to the studio of Leo Sewell.
