Artist of the moment……Shirley Kaneda

Shirley Kaneda is a fantastic contemporary artist born in Tokyo, Japan in the year 1951. For her artistic education Kaneda attended the Pratt Institute located in New York City.

When I think of this artist, the word “screen saver” comes to mind. Kaneda does use the computer as part of her painting process.

Kaneda has also taught at the collegiate level and continues to teach at the Pratt Institute.

Price range information: Sorry none available.

Kaneda uses oils and acrylics in most of her work.

Kaneda has won fellowships and grants from the National Endowment of the Arts, the Pollack Krasner Foundation, and the Guggenheim Foundation.
