Some new cartoon/ caricature works

I have still been making collages and painting, doing many abstract works. This work is a friend of mine from work named Paul. I thought his face and bodytype would be fun for a caricature, and it was! I threw this caricature together when I was stuck inside with a flu. Its acrylics on canvas and 16 by 20 inches.

This work is my largest collage to date! It was great fun but took a long while to get the curves of the figure just right. Many artists inspired this piece. The legs and figures of Cathy Daley, the continuous flowing lines of the dancers of Al Hirschfeld,  the wonderful cartoons and murals of Mary Blair, and the collage works of Lorelay Bove all were in my head as created this piece. Its rather large at 4 feet tall by 3 feet wide. When doing collage works I like to shoot multiple images in the shadow and the light because each paper has a unique texture and may or may not appear glossy when a photograph is taken.

Thanks for looking!
