Artist of moment….Richard Bosman

Richard Bosman is an Australian artist who was born in Madras, India in 1944.
Included in many prominent collections including the Museom of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of Art, and the Yale University Art Collection.
For his artistic studies Bosman studied at famed British illustrator’s school, the John Byum Shaw School of Art located in Madras, India. Shaw was a great realist and loved to portray realism. His work reminds me of an old master such as Bougereux. Shaw was highly skilled at painting the female form. Below an example of Shaw’s style.

First started exhibiting in 1980.
Price range information: No pricing for originals. Bosman’s renown woodcuts range between $2,000 and $6,000.
In this clip we visit Bosman’s painting of famed Canadian figure and abstract painter Philip Guston’s art studio at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, MA.

Bosman also studied at the New York Studio School and also in Skowhegan, Maine.
Currently lives in Ecopus, New York.
