Artist of the moment……..Adrian Berg

Adrian Berg was a wonderful British artist and printmaker renowned for his work with plants, trees, and gardens. Adrian Berg was born in the year 1929. His father was a doctor who studied with renowned Dr. Sigmund Freud.

Berg earned a college degree where he studied English from Trinity College. Berg took a job as an English teacher.

Berg was soon bitten by the artist bug and entered the Saint Martin’s School of Art and the Royal College of Art. Two classmates that would remain in close contact with the artist include David Hockney and Paul Huxley.

The artist was inspired to work with his subject matter after seeing a Tate exhibition of the Impressionist Claude Monet. Berg was very impressed with the way Monet brought vivid color and life to simple items like a haystack.

Berg was made a member of the Royal Academy.

Adrian Berg passed away in 2011 at the age of 82 years old.

I love the way the artist was able to capture the mood, atmosphere, and color of trees in the changing seasons. His design as a printmaker was impeccable.
