Jesús Moroles was a wonderful sculptor of granite who passed away in a car crash earlier this month. The accident took place about 30 minutes from Austin. The van Moroles was driving rear ended a tractor-trailer. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

The artist was based out of Rockport, Texas. Moroles also served in the United States Air Force.

Morales was the recipient of the United States National Medal of the Arts.

The artist was commissioned for a work of art that was displayed on the Great Wall of China.

Another important work of Moroles was the Houston Police Officers Memorial.
