Artist of the moment………Trevor Bell

Trevor Bell is a British artist renown for his abstract style of painting. Trevor Bell was born in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England in the year 1930. Bell attended the Leeds College of Art.

A big step in fame came for the artist when he won a painting award at the Paris Biennial.

Bell sometimes uses shaped canvases.

Bell has also taught at the collegiate level at Florida State University at Tallahassee. The artist spent two decades in Florida before returning to Cornwall.

In this clip a great interview with the artist as he celebrated his 80th year. Many works are shown:

The artist is part of the permanent collection of the Tate.

Price range information: Works range from $5,000 to $40,000. The artist works in acrylics, ink, oils, gouache, and watercolor.

I enjoy the way Bell makes use of his shaped canvases. Each piece is made with dynamic lines that exaggerate the uniquely shaped canvases.
