Artist of the moment………Street Artist ECB a.k.a. Hendrik Beikirch

Hendrik Beikirch is a German street artist renown for his very large black and white murals. Hendrik Beikirch was born in Kassel, Germany in the year 1974.

Beikirch attended college in Koblenz, Germany at the University of Koblenz-Landau.

In this clip we view one of ECB’s largest murals that he made in India of Ghandi:

In this clip we view an exhibition from ECB that featured people that he saw whilst walking in the streets or on subways:

The artist is based out of Koblenz, Germany.

ECB began working with spray paint in 1989.

Price range information: Sorry none available.

ECB reminds me most of another artist known for his portrait photography black and white images, JR. Its great that both artists capture people that you may see whilst traveling about town.

Below a link for the blog of ECB. Very informative with many pictures:

Update on new poster auction records…..

One of my favorite genres of art is poster art and of course the San Francisco Bay movement of the 1960s and 1970s. This movement was led in part by two artists, Stanley Mouse (featured here already) and Alton Kelley.

Just a few days ago a new record was made for a poster that was made for a Grateful Dead concert. Prior to the auction an estimate of $4,000 was given.

Before the auction a renown collector of poster art from the Bay said it was the best quality he had ever seen for a print. This sent the price range soaring and set a record for $19,000 was made for the poster.

In this clip we take a closer look at this masterpiece of poster art!:
