I own a copy of the book with Japanese fairy tales from which some of the illustrations above are taken, published by the publishing company Artia (in a German edition). The book contains two types of illustrations: some are bicolor illustrations (I think watercolors) printed directly on the text pages (see the last picture of the old man with the fox), the other ones are multicolor printed on glazed paper and interspersed between the text pages (the Samurai with the horse is an example, and the two pictures shown as one but last. These pictures have some very interesting textures as well. I like this book a lot (also because the tales are nice).
