Artist of the moment…….Roger Brown

 

 

Roger Brown was an American surrealist painter and printmaker who often painted works that featured urban landscapes with Art Deco style decoration. Roger Brown was born in Hamilton, Alabama in the year 1941.

Brown attended the American Academy of Art located in Chicago before transferring to the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Illinois where he would eventually earn an M.F.A.

Family and history were very important to the artist and he made references to both subjects in much of his artwork.

Brown was also an avid art collector.

Roger Brown passed away in 1997.

Price range information: Lithographs are very affordable coming in at $2000 or less. Original oils can reach $100,000. Acrylics range from $10,000 to $75,000.
