Ganzeer is an Egyptian street artist who has made the jump to Pop Art star after the Egyptian revolution of 2011. Ganzeer works in many mediums including graphic design, installations, stencils, comic books, and public art. Ganzeer’s government name is Mohamed Fahmy.
The artist calls his work Concept Pop Art. The idea is to take a very iconic image and make people more aware of the problem. Fahmy often has painted murals of those who died during a political event.
Before the revolution occurred street art was seldom seen anywhere in Egypt. Ganzeer was one of the first artists to use his art to promote a political agenda.
His work has been shown in Europe, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America.
