Laura Owens has mastered the art of design and its apparent in both her abstract and more representational works. Her landscapes remind me of contemporary artist Julian Opie. Opie has a similar design in his landscape works and often will add a digital element such as moving water or flowers in his work.
Below we explore printmaking with Laura Owens:
Her work also reminds me of artist James Havard. Havard was one of the first artists to explore abstract illusionism. This is where an objects floats in space above other abstract elements, but with one object casting a reflection. We can always expect a unique design idea and wonderful execution by Laura Owens.
