Brusk is part of the collaborative group DMV. In this clip each individual member is briefly profiled:

The DMV group is gaining in popularity and they have been included in traditional gallery shows in France and also London, England.

Brusk was born in the year 1976.

I enjoy the way Brusk and also the previous post, Will Barras, both blend abstraction with the figure. The sense of movement in Barras’ work is similar to the Brusk’s subjects seem to drip and dissolve before our very eyes!

Artist of the moment……..Will Barras

Will Barras is a British illustrator born in Birmingham, England in the year 1973. The artist grew up in Brixton. Barras style mixes several styles including surrealism, abstraction, and work with the figure. He likes for his work to be in perpetual change and motion.

Barras now works as an animation director for commercials, a designer whose art is used for items including sunglasses and skateboards, and also a muralist.

The artist grew up in Brixton and is now based in London, England.

Here is an interview with Will Barras that took place in 2009:

Barras’ style is sometimes called fluid abstraction. I enjoy his art for its mix of realism and abstraction.

The artist works in many mediums and seems to favor acrylics and India ink.

Here Barras works on a large mural in Oslo, Norway:

The movement of the figures in Barras’ work reminds me of the American WPA artists such as Thomas Hart Benton.
