Before becoming an artist Freundlich had aspirations of being a dentist.

After the first world war the artist lived in Paris, France. Whilst still living in France he was detained by the authorities in 1943. The artist was taken to a concentration camp where he was killed the first day he arrived.

The artist had a talent for layering many unique shapes in his work but his works don’t look cluttered at all.
