Artist of the moment……..Cordy Ryman

Cordy Ryman is a wonderful artist working in abstractly with found and recycled materials. Cordy Ryman was born in New York City in the year 1971. Ryman works as a sculptor, painter, and installation artist. His father is also an artist, Robert Ryman.

This is one of the most artist families I have profiled! His father was a well known minimalist artist and so was his mother, Merrill Wagner. A brother named Will Ryman is also an artist.

The artist attended the Visual School of the Arts located in New York City earning a B.F.A.

Ryman works with many mediums. Most works include acrylics and enamel. Some of the other items the artist enjoys using are gorilla glue, cardboard, scrap metal, and wood.

In this clip we view two works of Cordy Ryman:

What a great use of color and shape! And what a wonderfully artistic family! Soon we will take a closer look at his parent’s art.
