Artist of the moment…….c215

C215 is the name of a street artist who works with the face and figure. The works of C215 are mixed media masterpieces that include spray paint, pochoir, acrylics, canvas, and wood panels. C215 is based out of France and was born in the year 1973.

The artist began to work with spray paint and street art in 2005.

The government name for C215 is Christian Guemy.

For his palette C215 uses either many colors, or restricts his choice to two colors.

In this clip we view a great montage of works by C215. From a design aspect, I enjoy his use of traffic signs as a means of adding basic geometric shapes to his composition:

Like many of street artists he likes to portray everyday people in their everyday life. These include beggars and the homeless.

Price range information: Works range from $5,000 to $30,000 for originals. From time to time the artist produces prints.

This artist is great at letting the viewer grasp the emotion of his characters.

The artist works with stencils, but also creates work freehand.


Artist of the moment……..Roberta Quock

Roberta Quock is fantastic Five Nations artist born in the year 1968. For his artistic education Quock attended the Freda Diesing School of Design. Quock is renowned for her mask and utensil carvings.

Quock is a member of the Five Nations Tahltan.

Quock has spent much of her life living in British Columbia.

A major inspiration for the artist was master Five Nations artist Bob Dempsey who has been profiled here.

Artist of the moment………Photographer Andreas Gefeller

Andreas Gefeller is a photographer based out of Dusseldorf, Germany. Andreas Gefeller was born in the year 1970 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

The artist has produced many well received series including a series on plants and Japan. Gefeller is unique in that he shoots from directly overhead. Another acclaimed series was done on the Art studios at the Academy of Art Dusseldorf. For the Japan series Gefeller focused on the abstract patterns that digital communication wires and poles create.

Gefeller attended the University of Essen, Germany.

Gefeller is a member of the German Academy of Photography.
