Artist of the moment…….Arthur Rackham


Arthur Rackham was one of the leading British illustrators of all time. Arthur Rackham was born in the year 1867 in Lewisham, London, England.

For his artistic education Rackham attended the Lambeth School of Art.

During this period prints and books were published at a record pace. Books were given as Christmas presents and birthday gifts.

Many illustrations were done using graphite, watercolor, and India Ink.

For many works both a black and white and color image were produced.

Arthur Rackham passed away in 1939 at the age of 71 years old.

One of his most popular works were the illustrations of the Fairy Tales of the Brother’s Grimm.
