Artist of the moment……Burgoyne Diller

Burgoyne Diller was one of the premiere abstract American artists. Burgoyne Diller was born in the Bronx, New York City in the year 1906. As you can probably figure out by his style, a heavy influence on Diller was the Dutch painter, Piet Mondrian.

Diller studied with Hans Hofmann at the Art Student’s League New York City.

Burgoyne Diller also worked as a realist. The artist worked for the WPA painting murals with the subject being the figure.

Burgoyne Diller passed away in 1965.

Diller is part of many prestigious collections including the Whitney Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the National Gallery of Art.

Price range information: Diller worked in many mediums including crayon and graphite which can be found starting at $3,000 up to larger paintings in oils and collages which can reach $75,000.
