Artist of the moment……..Brighton Sango

Brighton Sango was a second generation Shona artist born in Guruve, Zimbabwe in the year 1958. The artist was quite ground breaking in his style becoming one of the more abstract inspired shona artists.

The artist was part of the Tengenenge Sculpture Park. He stayed here less than one year as he didn’t enjoy being around the other artists. He thought his artwork was being too influenced by the other artists.

The artist has a brother Bywell Sango, who is also a professional artist.

Brighton Sango took his own life and committed suicide in 1995.
