Artist of the moment……Ashivak Adla

Ashevak  or Ashivak Adla is a very young but experienced Inuit artist born in Cape Dorset, Nunavut Territory, Canada  in the year 1977. He enjoys carving bears, birds, and shamans in the midst of transformation. Both the artists parents were professional artists. Two brothers are also professional artists.

Was inspired to carve by his family members and also by watching the master artist Nuna Parr as he worked on his signature bears.

price range information: Most works priced between $2,000 and $10,000.

First exhibition was in 1988 at the age of eleven years old.

One side of his family tree his  grandfather was the renown Inuit artist Aoudla Pee born in 1920. Below a great example of Pee’s work. Pee enjoyed carving bears and seals.


His other grandfather was also a professional artist named Kalai Adla.  Kalai was an artist who enjoyed depicting animals. Below an example of the work of Kalai Adla.
