Artist of the moment….Stan Bevan

Stan Bevan is a Northwest Coast artist born in Kitselas, British Columbia in the year 1961. For his artistic education Bevan attended the Gitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Art. Another huge influence on Bevan’s goal to become an artist was his uncle, Northwest Coast artist Bob Dempsey. He apprenticed under his uncle for years and started to produce his own works in the late 1980s.

His work includes many nations including the Tahltan, Tlingit, Tsimshian nations.

In this clip from 2011 we see the artist receiving an award from the government of British Columbia:

The artist is an instructor at the Freda Diesing School of Art where he teachers wood carving.

Price range information: Smaller jewelry sized works start at around $1,000 to larger sized works reaching $10,000.
