Artist of the moment……..Luke Anowtalik

Luke Anowtalik was an Inuit sculptor born in the Ennaidai Lake, Nunavut Territory, Canada in the year 1932. Some of his themes were mother and child, the hunter, and the fisherman. The artist enjoys working with groups of multiple figures. These are amazing works of art as not every figure is carving entirely, leaving much to the viewers imagination.

Anowtalik carves mainly in stone his second used medium would be antlers.

Price range information: The artist was very prolific and works can be found between $500 and $11,000.

Luke was married to Mary Anowtalik who is an artist. Below an example of her work.


Luke Anowtalik passed away in 2006 at the age of 74 years old.
