Artist of the moment…..Henry Evaluardjuk

Henry Evaluardjuk was a master Inuit sculptor born in 1923 in the Igoolik, Nunavet Territory, Canada.

Evaluardjuk enjoyed working with animals and capturing motion. The family moved to Pond Inlet where few people were carving, basically just his dad. Evaluardjuk took up carving after his father.

Henry Evaluardjuk was a key founder of the Co-Op that existed in Iqalit.

The artist passed away in 2007 at the age of 84 years of age.

Price range information: Works range from $500 to $6,000.
