Artist of the moment…..John J. Moore

John J. Moore is one of the best painters of urban america born in the year 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri. For his collegiate studies the artist attended Washington University in St. Louis. For his masters degree he went on to study at Yale. He is best renown for his work with architecture and for paintings with vantage points high above the city.

Part of teaching faculty at the Tyler School of Art and University of California at Berkeley.

Part of many prominent museum collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the San Francisco Museum of Art.

Moore is not only known for his paintings of the city, but for what he adds to it. For instance he may paint a wonderful city scene and then add a flower to add color and movement.

Painter of works on a large scale with some sides measuring longer than 6 feet.

Price range information: Works range from $10,000 to $100,000.

Moore has great works to study architecture were done using charcoal.

Many of his still life works include objects from his imagination.

For his interior works Moore is a master at creating different textures in his  works.  The woodgrain of a table, the fabric of the table cloth, paper, glass, ceramic, and water are usually present in many of his still life pieces. The artist paints everything well!
