Artist of the moment…..Andy Miki

Andy Miki is yet another great Inuit artist born in the Arviat, Nunavet Territory, Canada in the year 1918. Miki carved animals from a youngster to his death.

Most of the time he new exactly what he wanted to sculpt whilst still working on a previous piece. His art came mainly from his observations of animals and a wonderful imagination!

Price range information: Among the most sought after Inuit artists, Andy Miki has works ranging from $2,000 to $30,000.

Andy Miki passed away in 1983.

In this clip from our friends at Waddington’s Auction house of Canada we visit a work titled the howling dog at auction.

No more information on this artist, but more Inuit art coming soon!
