Arp would become one of the worlds premiere abstract artists working not only with paintings and prints but also sculpture and abstraction in three dimensions. Arp also wrote poetry and produced collages. The artist is known by Hans and Jean as his first name because he was bilingual and called himself Jean in French and Hans when he was speaking in German. His mother was French and father German.

In this clip we see a wide selection of works by Jean Arp. Its great to see his many abstract works that have just one shape in the middle. For an exercise compare some of these shapes to other abstract master artists such as Rex Ray, Beatriz Milhazes, and Wassily Kandinsky.
