Artist of the moment…..Anders Krisar…

Anders Krisar is a gifted sculptor that was born in Sweden in the year 1973. He is known for working with the torso but more for his unique mediums he uses. My favorite works in the gallery include the cast of a face, that when you look closer is made up of many drug pills. Another interesting technique is when the artist uses silicon and constructs the bodypart and ends up with a result that resembles lattice. These are done using oil paints on top of silicone and fiberglass.

Price range information: Sculptures range from $10,000 to $50,000 for sculptures. Also a renown photographer but not enough information for pricing schedule on photographs.

For his collegiate studies Krisar attended the University College of Art and Design located in Stockholm, Sweden.

Based out of Stockholm.

I love artists who have the same genre of the figure that has been painted for hundreds of years really well, or even with sculpture, some spectacular results. Krisar is great because he uses such elements that are prevalent in our society. The lattice type torsos are just wonderfully sculpted and then painted. Other sculptors that do great works with the figure would David Mach, John DeAndrea, Duane Hanson, and Maurizio Savini. Savini hails from Italy and is renown for using pink chewing in his works.  For example the work might be cast in iron, then the artist would cover it using pink chewing gum. Below an example of his art.
