Artist of the moment… Spanish Street artist Eltono…

the name for Tone in Spanish has become known worldwide for his decoration of the streets using geometric shapes and designs. The artist doesn’t use the common free hand technique used by most “taggers” rather he uses plastic paint and tape to get perfectly straight lines. The artist’s work is simple and understated and doesn’t jump out at the viewer like a Crash piece or piece by Bansky.

I read more on this article in the magazine Art News in this months issue on newstands now. Its a great take on the contemporary modern street art scene.

Eltono has a great sense of design and use of color.

I think of him as the street Mondrian!

the youtube clip is about one of his shows please check it out!

keep painting!
